The next best thing to having you at church with us is having you visit with us here. By the time you leave, you'll have a pretty good feeling for who we are are, what we've been doing, and what activities are coming up.
First United Methodist has been meeting in Jacksboro since about 1850. We have a long history, tied to the circuit riders who rode through here on horseback, influenced heavily by Fort Richardson which was buillt here in 1878 as an outpost in the Indian Wars, and shaped by the industries of ranching and oil. We still have horses in the parking lot on occasion, we pray for rain almost every Sunday, and eats lots of meals together- just like neighbors and friends have always done here.
Our history, our present, and our future have been, and are, being lived out as people who are disciples of Jesus Christ. Through learning and serving others in need, we have made a difference in our town, in the world, and in God's Kingdom on earth. So look around here awhile. And then, come be with us in Worship- Sundays at 10:50 a.m. You'll meet people who are friendly and welcoming- working all the time to present the face of God's love here on the eastern edges of West Texas.

WORSHIP SERVICES Sunday School - 9:45 am Sunday Worship Service - 10:50 am Jacksboro Youth Group - Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. & Sunday evening (except summer months)
